Gabor Cosmetics for Bees

Bees Project

Nature is a continuous source of life and well-being. It is beauty and inspiration and must be preserved for a better future. Committing ourselves to a more responsible world is the first mission that we at Gabor Cosmetics want to pursue.
This is why we have become a Benefit Company. We wish to concretely contribute, even in a small way, to the protection of the planet. With this goal in mind, we have dedicated our energy to several important partnerships and initiatives, such as the launch, in January 2022, of the Gabor Cosmetics For Bees Project.
The protection of biodiversity, in which bees are indispensable, is fundamental in this initiative. In partnership with experienced beekeepers, we are dedicating ourselves to the repopulation of high mountain bees in the Val Troncea Natural Park.

It all begins

In the heart of the Cozie Alps, in upper Piedmont, the Val Troncea Natural Park covers an area of 3200 hectares. The Chisone river runs through Val Troncea and the valley is surrounded by high peaks that reach three thousand meters above sea level. This valley is a protected and unspoiled area that can only be reached on foot, by bike or by cross-country skis. It is precisely in this earthly paradise, 8 km at the bottom of the valley and at 1,800 meters above sea level, that our hives will be positioned in fields of wild Rhododendrons that provide the favorite nectar of the high mountain bees.

Our Mission

Given the dedication of Laura and Alberto, Gabor Cosmetics has decided to entrust these bee hives to them and launch the Gabor Cosmetics For Bees project. In the middle of the spring we will place our first ten hives in the Val Troncea. Here our bees will produce not only honey, but also beeswax, royal jelly, pollen and propolis. These, in turn, will become the basis of Gabor’s organic and eco-sustainable formulations and cosmetic lines. At the same time, the beekeepers will also benefit by collecting different types of honey and producing candles in pure beeswax for Luce di Miele Farms. There will be guided tours of the hives, the honey and candle production laboratory, as well as honey tastings. Once the project is started, we will organize guided tours for schools and children to discover the ``Wonderful world of Bees`` and how it is essential to protect them and ensure their future.
For us at Gabor, this is the first step towards a change that we look forward to achieving together with you.

An environmental solidarity project

Laura and Alberto, expert beekeepers who have dedicated their time to the care of bees for years, gave life to a new project in 2020, increasingly linked to beekeeping and the environment. Laura, a lover of nature and candles, with a view to the circular economy, decided to use the wax of her bees to produce pure beeswax candles both perfumed and unperfumed. LUCE DI MIELE was thus born, an idea and a dream, even before considering the project as a business activity. They created a reality where bees and nature become the heart around which the circular economy is built and where attention to the environment is of utmost importance, a reality in which the bees produce that which comes naturally to them and which preserves their habitat, which is so often threatened by man himself.
